Which one to pick
- You want to type faster everywhere, write long text or reply to messages: a dictation app such as Superwhisper or Wispr Flow fits better, and they also run on Windows and phones.
- You are already in the Claude Code terminal: use its built-in /voice, nothing else to install, as long as you sign in with a Claude.ai account and speak a supported language.
- You are not in the terminal and want to hand work to Claude Code or Codex as it comes up: use echo agent. Press Fn+Space while reading an error in the browser or a spec in a doc, and attach a screenshot if it helps.

Is echo agent a dictation app?
No. It does turn your speech into text first, but then a model decides what to do with it: answer directly, take a screenshot, or hand the task to Claude Code or Codex.
Do I still need Claude Code's /voice if I use echo agent?
No. echo agent works from any app and runs tasks in the Claude Code CLI in the background. When you happen to be sitting in the Claude Code terminal, /voice is handy too, and the two don't conflict.
Does echo agent run on Windows or phones?
Not yet. It is Mac only and needs Apple silicon and macOS 15 or later.
